Revellers sample African art,cuisine They came in their different traditional outfits to celebrate “Taste of the Africa Night” at Botswana Craft over the weekend.The event, organised by BotswanaPost and Boitekanelo Bureau De Change through Western Union-Money Transfer, saw many come to witness fashion, taste food and enjoy music from Africa.The Assistant Marketing Manager of BotswanaPost, Ms Bedu Tlhabologo said the primary objective of the event was to acknowledge their customers for contributing to the growth of the organisation.She said the event, which was the first of its kind, was also meant for people to interact, share and learn about each other’s culture through food, music and clothes.
One of the guests, Ms Margaret Ngoma from Zambia told BOPA that before introduction of Western Union, she used to travel home to pay her children’s school fees and give her mother some money, adding that things have been made easier as she can now go to the post office and transfer money.
Ms Ngoma said the event also afforded her an opportunity to interact with fellow Zambians. Ms Tonoto Chireye from Omaweneno in the Kgalagadi District said she was also happy about the services from Western Union.
